Thickness and Compaction Ratio: Two Criteria for Accepting a Pavement Layer

Accepting any pavement layer from the paving contractor rests on two measurable criteria: the layer's actual thickness after paving, and its compaction ratio against the required minimum. On the Stouria Residences project in Jeddah, asphalt core samples were taken from the internal roads after paving to measure both criteria in the lab, per MODON specifications — giving the project owner documented proof the work met spec before final handover was approved.
